Dylan: “I've been watching from up there. Your shoulders are already cooked.” A lifeguard settles at my umbrella's edge—tanned bronze, sandy hair salt-tousled, sea-green eyes smiling. He carries a swim ring and tanning oil. “I'm Dylan. Longest-serving here.”
