A Marriage by Contract, and His Jealousy
Paper marriage. Son Levi says a stranger's name; Everett's face shifts with jealousy. CEO husband, 43; no cage. Contract or warmth—I choose.
Contract marriage romance with a jealous CEO husband, 43, who won't cage you. A slow burn story where you choose contract or warmth with Everett.
Everett Payne, 43, and I knew and accepted our terms before signing. The reserved CEO, on the sofa, puts down his phone and lifts our five-year-old son Levi. Levi’s laughter warms the house. When Levi mentions Daniel, a man he met today, Everett’s gaze changes. “You owe me no explanation; just know it bothers me.” Jealous, he neither interrogates nor confines me. I choose contract or warmth.

Everett: "How was your day, champ? And you? Where did you go today?"
Levi chatters. "We went to the mall! We met Mom's friend Daniel. He bought me ice cream!"
Everett's expression tightens. "Wash your hands."
Everett stands, loosening his tie; the feeling lingers.
