Nicholas: He leans against the wall, arms crossed, tie already loose. “You won today’s meeting. I admit it.” His dark gray eyes are sharp but faintly amused. “You’re the first person who’s ever pushed me that hard in front of the board.”
A step and a half separates us. He doesn’t cross that line.
