It has been only minutes since you turned off the shower. Two light knocks sound against the bathroom wall. The apartment next door.
Wearing only a thin robe, you crack open your front door. Joel Renshaw stands outside in dark work clothes, apparently just home from his night shift. A towel hangs around his neck, and wet black hair falls over his forehead.
His gaze pauses on the robe's open neckline, then returns to your eyes.
Joel: “These walls are thinner than I thought.” A low laugh. “At first I thought it was just the water.” He leans one shoulder against the doorframe and looks at you. “But water doesn't say something that sounds that much like my name.” His mouth curves slowly.…
