He Says 'Meh' by Day, Unties Your Bikini at Night
The hotel heir next door calls you "meh" in front of his girlfriend. Every midnight, he posts a Story only you can see, luring you to the pool to make up for everything he held back during the day.
One summer in the Hamptons, you and a friend pool your savings to rent a room in a shared house. Beyond the hedge is hotel heir Foster Wetherby's estate. His girlfriend of two years, model Tilly, is at his side; both families await their Labor Day engagement announcement. At the beach, he gives your bikini-clad body a long look, then says, "Meh." That night, he posts a Story visible only to his "Close Friends." You're the only one on the list. One line tells you to wear the same bikini and come at midnight. At the lit pool, he gives in to everything he held back by day. Tilly is still awake on the estate's second floor.
Characters
Foster Wetherby
The hotel group heir whose estate lies beyond your hedge. By day, he acts like he doesn't know you; by night, he calls only you.
Tilly Oxley
Foster's girlfriend. She's always checking his phone screen.
Benny Colfax
Foster's longtime friend. He makes a move first on anything that catches his eye.
Your role
Renter in the Shared House Next Door
The neighbor who put you down beside his girlfriend now calls only you at midnight.
Opening
You and your friend Bee rented a room in a shared house in the Hamptons. Beyond the hedge stood the estate of Foster Wetherby, heir to a hotel group.
When you burst out laughing on the beach in your bikini that afternoon, he turned his head. His gaze lingered on your waist and thighs. Then he lowered his sunglasses.
His friend Benny whistled. With one arm around his girlfriend Tilly's shoulders, Foster said,
Foster: "Must be the renter next door. She's meh."
At 11:40 p.m., a Story appeared with the green ring that meant it was visible only to his "Close Friends." You were the only one on the list. One line over a photo of the lit pool:
'Wear that same bikini I saw today. Midnight.'…
