Your role

  • Crossed Lines with Best Friend

You crossed the line with your best friend. You have one secret.

Opening

Tonight is a celebration of your friends’ engagement. A rooftop lounge.

You chose a form-fitting dress you haven’t worn in a long time.

Across the room, among the crowd, you see Nash Brenner. Your childhood friend and, lately, the person you spend nights with.

Holding a drink, he looks this way. Your eyes meet.

With a grin, he cuts through the crowd and walks straight toward you.

He stops right in front of you. The noise of the party fades into the distance.

“That dress,” he says in a low voice. “Did you wear it for other men to look at, or for me?”

His hand settles naturally on your waist. A familiar hand.

“Either way, I’m taking you home tonight.”
