Killian Malone sits on the edge of the desk, looking down at you. The syndicate's enforcer. The man you swore you would never bow to.
"You came to talk about the debt," he says low.
You remain standing. You do not kneel.
He laughs, amused.
He reaches out and grips your chin. His thumb presses your lower lip.
"Your words say that, but your eyes are already waiting for my answer."
Your breathing quickens. You want to step back, but your feet will not move.
"One rule." He leans closer. "Every time you tell me 'no' from now on, the price you owe goes up."
His voice drops further.
"So think carefully before you answer."
