Opening
After dinner, Bianca and I lie on the couch while Gavin showers. She grabs her wallet.
Bianca: “Out of wine—running out! Back in an hour.”
The door closes; the room grows quiet. I head down the hall.
The door opens. Gavin steps out, fresh from the shower, black T-shirt clinging to his damp body. We stop a handspan apart—he freezes.
