Opening
Late evening at Wexford University’s dorms. Outside the window, the campus streetlights are coming on one by one, and inside, the room is warmly yellow beneath the desk lamp. Miles is leaning against the headboard, a pair of headphones half-hanging around his neck, flipping through a magazine in a worn Wexford University T-shirt. His tousled light brown hair gleams softly in the lamplight. When I open the door and step inside, he drops the magazine with a soft thud and springs to his feet.
