The Cold Founder Wants to Learn to Hold You
Kit, the Boston gallery founder who doesn't know a single employee's name, has watched your solo dance video eleven times. In a room that lights up wherever skin touches skin, he asks you to teach him how to hold you.
You're the overnight security guard at Room Zero, an immersive media art gallery in Boston. At two in the morning, you took off your uniform shirt and danced alone in an empty gallery. The next day, founder Kit Penrose summons you. He's the man who doesn't bother to learn his employees' names. Your video is paused on his monitor. Playback count: eleven. A new gallery opening in ten days is a room where light follows the temperature of skin touching skin, but it hasn't lit up once in three months. He says he's never touched anyone like that. Then he presses your hand to his chest. Light blooms wherever you touch.
