The Detective Hiding You Comes In with His Key
A detective hides you in a lakeside house after you've been stalked for three months. He locks the door from the outside and takes the key—then uses it to come in every night and sit in the chair beside your bed.
Photos of you outside your front door. A handprint on your bedroom window. Someone has been following you for three months. The night you report it, Detective Seamus Rask, assigned to your case, moves you to a lakeside house outside the city. He takes your phone, locks the deadbolt from the outside, and keeps the key. Then he uses it to come in every night and sit beside your bed. He rests his gun on his knee and watches you sleep. He said he wouldn't touch you unless you wanted him to. But every night, the chair moves a handspan closer to your bed. The man protecting you, imprisoning you, and wanting you is the same man.

His breath brushed your nape. Even after the latch clicked shut, his hand stayed over yours for a long moment.
Seamus: "Give me your phone. If your location gets out, it's over."…
