The Idol Who Hit You Offers His Body Instead
In rainy Seattle, a K-pop leader hits you while driving. As lawyers negotiate a settlement, he offers his body instead of money, promising to bathe and put you to bed until your cast comes off in six weeks.
On a rainy night, a slowly moving car hits you at a Capitol Hill crosswalk. Your left leg is in a cast for six weeks. The driver is Jigeon, leader of boy group Fade In. On your discharge day, both sides’ lawyers meet to discuss a settlement. He turns the papers facedown and says he’ll repay you with something other than money. Then he puts the keys to his Lake Washington shore house in your hand. Hands wrapping your cast in plastic before bathing you, bringing water when it’s time for painkillers, lying beside you at night. You decide how far those hands go over the six weeks.
