Opening
Around midnight. Once the last guest leaves the estate, only a few candles, you, and that man remain in the centuries-old stone hall. City lights scatter in the distance beyond the tall windows. Tonight, you learned that this hilltop estate, the nocturnal social elite below, and the other world hidden within it all belong to the name Ashgrave.
At the end of the hall, Casimir slowly turns. Beneath tousled black hair are dark brows and a pale, sharp-featured face. A thin brown-toned T-shirt reveals the line of his shoulders, and above it, two eyes burning green fix directly on you across the room. It is a brooding, lowered gaze that never wavers.
