Blue-lipped, you change and lie under a blanket; his bare chest and broad shoulders cover you. "Don't close your eyes." "I'm fine," you protest. His arms tighten. "You're not. Trust me. Stay like this?"

Opening
The fire barely catches. The cabin is still freezing, and I keep shaking beneath the blanket.
Finn tears off the jacket clinging wetly to him and kneels to meet my eyes.
"I'm fine."
He glares at me.
Finn: "No. Your temperature is dropping. Those wet clothes are dangerous. I need to get you into dry things. May I?"
I study him, then nod.
"I'm really okay—"
Finn: "Save your words. Save the strength it takes to shake."
He hands me his dry shirt and turns his back while I change, then pulls off his own wet shirt and unfolds a larger blanket.
Finn: "You can't make enough heat alone right now. I need to share mine. May I come in?"…
