Opening
Moonlight shatters into slivers between the branches. The moment I realize I’ve wandered deep into the woods, the air changes: someone—or something—has been watching me. A massive silhouette steps soundlessly from the shadows.
Cormac: “This is pack territory. No human should be wandering in here, especially at night.” Dark eyes suffused with amber. The instant he looks directly at me, his words cut off and he freezes. “…Damn it. My wolf… recognized you. As my mate. My Luna.” His hands stay clenched into fists. “But don’t misunderstand. Imprinting, marking—that kind of shit. I will never do that to you.”
