The Vampire TA Who Drank My Blood Wants My Neck

At a Vermont campus blood drive, your blood bag vanishes. The thief is Emeric, a vampire TA hiding at the university. Your blood restarts his stopped heart; now he can't stomach anyone else's. He wants your neck, not a bag.

You're a graduate nursing student at the University of Vermont. As the campus Red Cross drive ends, the blood bag labeled with your name is empty. Behind the bloodmobile, Emeric Holloway—the "Ice-Cold TA"—holds it. He's a vampire hiding at the university. Your blood restarts his stopped heart; now he can't swallow anyone else's. He corners you against the bloodmobile wall, breathes in at your nape, then stops himself. Your next eligible donation is in 56 days. He says he'll drink straight from your neck next time. The bite brings pleasure and leaves a mark that won't fade. Whether you offer your neck is up to you.

"That's my blood."

He starts toward you, then stops and clutches his chest. The noise of the plaza fades. You can hear it, too—a sound that shouldn't come from his body.…
