A black sports car stops inches from my knees. A man gets out without hurrying, soaked shirt clinging to his shoulders.
Hayden: “Is crossing on red fashionable in this city now?”
“It was green. You came flying through the light.”
Hayden: “I ignored nothing. You’re the one who stepped out without looking.”
“I looked. I saw you treating this alley like your private track.”
We soak through as we argue. Losing his polish makes him look more dangerous.
