Morning of my first day as a transfer. Holbrook University's lobby is packed. I hurry up the stairs, coffee and textbooks in hand, when someone slams into me. Coffee splashes, books scatter across the marble.
Drew: “...Wow.” Sandy-blond hair, cold blue-gray eyes, a scar through his eyebrow—Drew Riggs, whose name everyone hears before their first semester ends. “Watch where you're going next time, transfer. This lobby's more crowded than you think.”
No apology. I gather my books, then meet his gaze directly.
