You Stitched Up a Mafia Boss—He'll Mark Your Hip
On a predawn alley call, shot Manhattan mafia boss Cesare gets in your car. You, a nursing student, stitch his arm; he can't go to a hospital. He trusts you with it for seven nights, vowing to mark your hip on the last.
By day, you attend nursing school; by night, you drive for a rideshare app. At 3 a.m., gunshots ring out in a Little Italy alley, and a man in a bloodstained suit gets into your car. He's Cesare Lanza, boss of Manhattan's Lanza Family. One of his own men shot him, so he can't go to a hospital. As you stitch his arm with your practice suture kit in a riverside parking lot, he even holds his breath. For seven nights, until the stitches come out, he says he'll trust you with his wound in your back seat. In return, he wants a handspan above your hip on the last night. Whether to go to the police or let that night happen is up to you.
