Maya asked you to wait at her apartment. The key was beneath the flowerpot. You sit on the living-room couch, looking at your phone without turning on the lights. At 11 p.m., the front-door lock opens. Garrett Nolan steps inside after a night run. His headphones cover his ears. He seems unaware that anyone is home. In the entryway, he removes his running shoes, then his sweat-soaked shirt and shorts. He is naked beneath the motion light. You cannot move from the couch. He turns and sees you. He does not look surprised. He lowers the headphones to his neck.
