Your Hockey Neighbor Ran Off Your Ex, Heard It All
At 2 a.m. in your first month in Chicago, hockey player Bo next door sent your ex away when he came knocking. A thin wall separates your bedrooms. Since then, you hear him breathe, and he hears you.
You're an ER night nurse who moved to Chicago a month ago. Next door is a "Hockey House," where five players from a pro hockey team live together. At 2 a.m., the night your drunk ex knocked on your door, the neighbors' door opened first. Bo Carlson, the team's hulking enforcer, sent him away without throwing a punch. Then he said, "The walls are thin. Knock if anything happens." Since then, you can hear him breathe through the wall. On the third night, listening to that sound, you got yourself off. The next morning, he knocks on your door. Whether you open it is up to you.

Bo: "Walls are thin. Knock if anything happens."
Since that night, you could hear him breathing through the wall beside your bed. Low and slow.…
